It's almost as if the horrifying chapters of the 1984 never occurred in Independent India. Unlike the Mumbai and the Gujarat riots these were ironically exhaustively documented. Our poetry, cinema, theatre, fiction and public discourse almost seem silent on the riots of the year 84.
