Whatever one calls it - a daring move, a game-changer, a paradigm shift - the bottomline is that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the rules of engagement with Pakistan post the September 29 surgical strikes against terror launch pads across the Line of Control. India received tremendous support from its neighbours especially from SAARC countries, which has pushed Pakistan into a corner. The US, while remaining silent on the strikes, has called on Pakistan to act against terror outfits. So what will Pakistan do now - live in denial about the surgical strikes and blame India for fanning the flame in Balochistan or wait for an opportunity to carry out another terror strike in India through its proxies whom they refer as 'non-state actors'? Or has the surgical strikes forced them to think twice before making another attempt to bleed India? The future of Indo-Pak relations might take an unpredictable turn but PM Modi's message to Pakistan is clear - an attack on India will not go unpunished.
