A recent survey by the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies has painted a grim picture, showing that poverty rates have skyrocketed from 8.6% to nearly 19% in Dhaka alone. The statistics are alarming, with the national poverty rate climbing to 23.11%. It’s clear that the situation is going from bad to worse, with food insecurity now affecting nearly half the population. As the crisis deepens, the textile industry, the country’s lifeline, is crumbling under the weight of political instability and mismanagement.
