Praj Industries plans to develop alternate biofuels
A barrel of crude oil now costs over $110 and alternative fuels are fashionable but when food is turned into fuel like corn in the US, the food prices shoot up.The use of corn for biofuels is inefficient and has led to a spurt in global food prices. The challenge for companies like Pune based Praj Industries, a listed ethanol technology company, is to make bio fuels from plants that are not eaten.
