Praying for wealth
It is festival time, but for householders shopping for essential supplies there is very little to celebrate. The price of fruits and vegetables has skyrocketed and it is getting increasingly difficult to make both ends meet. We visit one household in Bangalore on the occasion of Varamahalakshmi pooja - a day when Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, would certainly be a welcome visitor for a household trying to manage on an uncertain budget.
