President Murmu Launches India's Latest Frigate In Kolkata | Read
INS Vindhyagiri, a Project 17A Frigate, was launched by President Droupadi Murmu, at Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited, Kolkata today. INS Vindhyagiri, named after the mountain range in Karnataka, is the sixth ship of the Project 17A Frigate and the last one to be built at the Graden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers in Kolkata. Present at the launch was West Bengal Governor Dr CV Ananda Bose, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Union MoS Defence Ajay Bhatt and Navy Chief Admiral R Harikumar. The CMD of the GRSE called it as the mother of all ship launches.
