Malayalam movie actor Revathi Sampath has escalated her allegation against actor Siddique, labelling him a criminal and demanding that he be banned from the film industry as #MeToo allegations hit the southern state's cinema. BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar said every woman in India is entitled to the fundamental right of working at a place with dignity, without exploitation. "The Hema committee report raises a number of questions about the power the people in the film industry misuse to cause harm and loss of dignity to many women who have alleged cases against people," Mr Chandrasekhar said. "It is important for the police to investigate each case urgently. Do it fast, do it fairly and transparently so that no attempt is made to push anything under the carpet," the BJP leader said.
