Protests Across India Against Citizenship Act
People from across the country came out to speak against the Citizenship Amendment Act today. Section 144 was imposed in many cities. A lot of people got detained for protesting. A lot of states protested peacefully. So if the protests were peaceful, was there a need to impose Section 144? Why were people detained for protesting peacefully? Do we not have the right to protest if we disagree with the government?
