Protests against corporate retailers
Nearly 10,000 people from across the unorganised retailers in Maharashtra gathered in Mumbai to rally against supermarkets and other forms of retail. The key issue is that big chains are wiping them off by offering bargain prices. Thanks to economies of scale, corporations are going direct to the farmer eliminating the middlemen taking employment away from mom and pop stores.
