Protests Against Vaishno Devi Ropeway Project Bring Katra To A Standstill
Katra, the base camp for pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi in Jammu and Kashmir, saw a complete shutdown on Wednesday due to rising protests against the Vaishno Devi ropeway project. Locals, led by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti, are concerned that the project could negatively impact their livelihoods.
