Protests Break Out Over Goa Ex RSS Leader's Remarks
Panaji Sessions Court dismisses anticipatory bail application of RSS leader Subhash Velingkar. Protests had erupted in Goa over the remarks made by Velingkar against St Francis Xavier, the patron saint of Goa. An FIR was registered against Velingkar for hurting religious sentiments after which the accused filed an anticipatory bail which now stands rejected. Members of the Christian community in Goa took to the streets, calling for the arrest of Subhash Velingkar, the former Goa unit chief of the RSS.
