Protests over dams on River Ganges
The construction of dams on river Ganga should be stopped. That's the message from environmentalists and even the Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh. Singh joined activists protesting the building of dams on the river saying that it will not only cause massive environmental damage, but also hurt the sentiments of crores of Indians. "I request Uttarakhand and the Centre that for a few megawatts of electricity they should not hurt the sentiments of crores of people," said Digvijay Singh.
