After being sacked from CM Ashok Gelhot's cabinet, Rajendra Singh Gudha said he was punished for speaking the truth. "I speak the truth always, that is who I am. I got punished for speaking the truth. I was elected by the women of Udaipurwati so that I could protect them and uphold their dignity, but day by day, crimes against women are increasing in Rajasthan. This state has become number one when it comes to crimes against women. We need to retrospect or else how will we face people? This was all I said," said Rajendra Singh Gudha. Gudha was sacked after he criticised his own government over recent incidents of crimes against women in the state. Speaking in the assembly, Gudha, the Congress leader said that it should be accepted that the state government "failed" in women's safety.
