The battle for Punjab has intensified after AAP ending months of suspense, and naming its colourful MP- the former comedian Bhagwant Mann as its Chief Ministerial Candidate. According to AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Mr Mann, overwhelmingly won an unusual phone-in public poll conducted by the party to pick its Punjab CM candidate with 22 lakh people voting for him. Despite his popular appeal, naming Bhagwant Mann has not been easy for AAP. The former stand-up comedian and two-time MP from Punjab's Sangrur has often made headlines for his maverick behaviour, especially his excessive drinking.
