Huge Setback For BJP In Punjab Urban Body Polls, Congress Wins Big
The Congress party today put up a spectacular show in the Punjab local body elections. Even as counting proceeded, the party had won six of the seven municipal corporations by a little after noon. These were Moga, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Abohar, Pathankot, and Bathinda. That last one was also perhaps the most stunning result of the day as it was 53 years that the Bathinda corporation was returning to the Congress fold.
