Puri yatra: Gajapati Raja to perform royal ritual
The Gajapati Maharaja of Puri, considered to be Lord Jagannath's first sevak, is carried in on a palanquin every year so that he can sweep the floors of all three chariots before they set off. The message is: "The Lord is the real ruler. He's bigger than even the king."
