Under Quad Initiative, India To Produce Vaccines Against Covid For Indo-Pacific
The first meeting of top leaders of Quad countries was held on Friday. It was a virtual meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Joe Biden and the Prime Ministers of Japan and Australia. PM Modi spoke of shared democratic values and Mr Biden talked of commitment to governance by international law. The meeting itself was a strong message to China. One of the major takeaways the government announced after the meeting was that the US-developed vaccines against coronavirus will be manufactured in India.
