Rahul Gandhi was today listed as a non-Hindu visitor at the famous Somnath temple in Gujarat in what the Congress says is a mistake by an aide. The apparent error ignited a storm on Twitter with 'Somnath Temple' emerging as one of the top trends of the day. The Congress vice president, campaigning in the Saurashtra region for the election next month in the state, visited the renowned temple with senior party leader Ahmed Patel. Party leaders say a media aide, Manoj Tyagi, jotted down the names of both in a register for non-Hindus. "Rahul Gandhiji" - the aide wrote, reportedly unaware that there are separate registers for Hindus and non-Hindus at the temple.
