Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, will be in Mumbai to launch the Maha Vikas Aghadi's poll campaign along with other senior leaders of the opposition alliance. However, Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray has unveiled five poll promises. Mr Thackeray has said if MVA formed government in the state again, it would ensure that prices of five essential food items, including sugar, pulses and grain, are kept under check. His poll promises came hours after Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced Mahayuti's ten poll promises including hiked support for poor women, pensioners, and farmers. Meanwhile, the NCP has also released its election guarantees and a separate manifesto for Baramati.
