Rail Budget to focus on reforms
Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav will be announcing the Union Rail Budget in about two weeks' time. NDTV has learnt that Lalu would be packing in many pleasant surprises in his Budget, since over the year, the Indian Railways has made a remarkable turnaround. According to sources, the Net Railway Revenue or railway surpluses have surged way ahead of last year's budget estimates, almost touching Rs 7,000 crore, that too, despite the spiralling cost of fuel.
