The BJP's push to maximise its Lok Sabha seats tally in Maharashtra is likely to resurrect Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) from political oblivion. Leaving nothing to chance when it came to blunting the challenge by the Uddhav Thackeray-led party, the BJP could formally include Raj Thackeray's party as part of its NDA. Mr Thackeray was in Delhi and he met with the BJP leadership, and also Home Minister Amit Shah today. Is this an attempt to neutralise the alleged sympathy factor or push the memory of Bal Thackeray, by way of projecting someone like Raj who is seen as closer to him in ideas and tone ? How will Raj Thackeray, a politician with limited political success who started with a staunch pro-Marathi position and later morphed into a larger pro-Hindutva figure in the last few years help the BJP in the coming elections?
