Rajasthan breaches 50% quota cap: Will quota gamble help BJP in other states?

In an attempt to calm growing tensions over the issue of reservations, the Rajasthan government has breached the limit for quotas in government jobs and educational institutions to include what its calling economically backward classes among the forward castes and also the Gujjars who've been identified as special backward classes. As calls for a review of India's reservation policy come from both sides of the political divide - from the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat to Congressmen like Jitin Prasada and Manish Tiwari, we ask whether Rajasthan's gamble will help the BJP in other states, especially poll-bound Bihar and what criteria will determine economically backward classes.
