Rajasthan has emerged as the big favourite to ring in the New Year in North India. While the blocked routes due to the Gujjar agitation have caused a slump, thousands of tourists from all over the world have been flocking to the desert state to savour its royal heritage in the festive season. While people in the Metros welcomed the New Year with DJs, discos and boisterous music, tourists in Rajasthan were captivated by the folk culture and vibrant colours of the desert landscape.
