Rajasthan remains the epicentre of lumpy skin disease in the country while 12 other states too have come in the grip of the viral disease that affects cattle. Jodhpur is the second worst-affected city in the state with cow carcasses piled up in the dumping ground. Protocol says cattle that die due to the disease should be buried, but carcasses are being thrown in the open in dumping grounds. Though the administration claims that the effect of the disease has subsided, those running cowsheds disagree.
