Popular YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia is facing backlash on social media after making indecent, offensive jokes and remarks during his appearance on India's Got Latent. Viewers have expressed their disapproval, calling for him to be boycotted for his jokes on the show that were seen as brazenly vulgar, crude and completely inappropriate, described as cringeful by many. Well, this controversy has also sparked a larger debate over content regulation, especially on OTT platforms and also YouTube. Ranveer has apologised for his comments and said that comedy was not his forte. But we ask some larger questions here – shouldn't digital content creators have some oversight on their content that is streamed live and watched by people across the world?
