Rapes outside capitals don't matter?
On The Social Network, we discuss why rapes in Kashmir, North East, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh or anywhere in the districts are rarely reported in the media. We are joined by activists from Kashmir, Banda in UP, and from Guwahati. We debate if we have a biased view of rape and if rapes and mutilations of women from marginalised sections don't make us angry. We are also joined via Skype by a student protester Shambhavi. The girl alleged she was detained and assaulted by the Delhi police during the ongoing protests. Her tweets about the alleged police assault have created a buzz on the web.
