RBI to extend Basel-II deadline

Call it a minor respite or their lack of preparedness. Indian banks may now have more time to set their house in order as the RBI Deputy Governor on Tuesday hinted of an extension of the deadline to meet Basel-II deadlines, which helps to improve their risk capital requirements. "Basel-II is just a year away and I don't think any bank is prepared," said OP Bhatt, Chairman, SBI.
