2017 was a year which saw fault lines in the Indian society deepen, tensions being stoked, the fringe turn into mainstream and lynch mobs kill in the name of cow or superstition. Political discourse fell to historic lows and India's environment crisis reached critical levels. The year gone by also saw some historic moments with the Supreme Court verdict declaring Triple Talaq null and void and Right to Privacy being a fundamental right.
