Every month, 1.8 billion people across the world menstruate. Millions of these girls, women, transgender men and non-binary persons are unable to manage their menstrual cycle in a dignified, healthy way, states UNICEF. Unmet menstrual health and hygiene needs can affect negatively like restrict mobility; reduce participation in school, work and community life. To create awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene, UNICEF and non-profit organisation Post For Change celebrate Red Dot Challenge every year on Menstrual Hygiene Day on May 28.
