Reduction in import duty positive; but exposes to forex fluctuation risks: JSPL
Sushil K Maroo, Deputy MD & Group CFO of JSPL, says that the move to reduce withholding tax on interest payments on ECB is a very significant advantage by government as it is like additional funding coming for the power sector. However, while reduction in import duty will bring down cost of power generation, it will expose the power sector to the risk of rupee-dollar fluctuations.
