47-year-old Rekha Kishan, from the tea garden community of Mijikajan in Biswanath district of Assam, runs a Silai School in the verandah of her two-room hut. Over the years, Rekha has not only sustained herself but now earns around Rs. 10,000 a month, supporting her household. Her success has bolstered CADAT's credibility as a grassroots NGO focused on improving the lives of rural women, and has enabled them to reach and empower many others like her.
