Remote Villages Cut Off, Water Crisis Worsens In Chamoli District
A devastating cloudburst in the lower part of Brahmatal has ravaged the remote villages of Dewal valley, leaving a trail of destruction. The Tharali-Van Nanda Devi Raj Jat Marg has been severely damaged, with 40 meters of road washed away, isolating 3,000 residents of Van and Kuling villages. The disaster has also destroyed the drinking water line of 5 villages, exacerbating the water crisis. Heavy rains on August 22nd have left the region grappling with connectivity and water woes.
