Report: Biden Plans To Kill Nippon Steel Bid For US Steel | Google To FTC : Break Up Microsoft-Openai Cloud Deal
According to a Bloomberg report, U.S. President Joe Biden is reportedly planning to formally block the 14.1-billion-dollar sale of United States Steel Corp. to Nippon Steel Corp. on national security grounds. The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States panel has been reviewing the proposed takeover for much of this year. Meanwhile, Google has reportedly asked the U.S. government to break up Microsoft's exclusive agreement to host OpenAI's technology on its cloud servers.
