Indian retail may be hot but is facing stiff challenges, as retailers fight steep rental costs in a bid to hold on to tight margins, moreover, there is pressure on the wages and human resource front as well. There is a lack of trained and skilled workers and retaining good talent is becoming tougher as salary levels also get higher. Thus, many are now opting for a cheaper and more productive option.
