Bangladesh Army Takes On New Student-Led NCP | In today's episode of India Global, Tensions in Bangladesh are peaking once again. This, as on Sunday, the military firmly rejected claims by the National Citizen Party or the N-C-P, a newly formed student-led political force, accusing it of attempting to bring back the disbanded Awami League under a military-backed plan. The Army dismissed the allegations as "hilarious" and part of an immature political stunt. However, the controversy escalated after NCP leader Hasnat Abdullah alleged that a 'refined' Awami League was being prepared to re-enter politics under India's influence, stirring protests at Dhaka University. Thousands of NCP supporters rallied, calling for a post-revolution Bangladesh where military interference in politics would not be tolerated. NDTV's Ankit Tyagi speaks with Former High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Veena Sikri, and Bangladesh High Commission's press minister Faisal Mahmud to discuss this and more.
