The Supreme Court today asked several tough questions to Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi for withholding bills and referring bills passed for the second time in the state assembly to the President than giving his assent. With at least ten bills pending, the state government has moved the Supreme Court seeking direction to call the Governor's act illegal and to abide by the constitution. R N Ravi had returned these bills after inordinate delay. However the assembly passes them again to make it mandatory on the part of the Governor to grant assent, who chose to refer it to the President leading to an unprecedented crisis.
