Road chaos: Kolkata faces traffic blues
Kolkata is experiencing a major crisis as far as traffic is concerned. And the major reason behind this is the rising number of cars on the roads, which has more than tripled in the past 10 years. But the space on roads has gone up only marginally. The city has been able to produce just 12 km of extra roads, most of it flyovers, for a whopping 6 lakh extra cars. And if this rate continues, it will probably be a horror story in the next 10 years.
