When the government is likely to push for the passage of a bill against instant Triple Talaq, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mocked Congress for being a party which according to him stood only with Muslim men. Reiterating the charge Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made yesterday, where she quoted a paper that claimed Rahul Gandhi said Congress is a party for Muslims, the Prime minster said he was not surprised. He also asked if it was only for Muslim men claiming the opposition stand on the issue of Triple Talaq had exposed them. The Congress hit back saying the Prime Minister quoting a fake news story reveals his desperation.
