In a first, a temple in Kerala's Thrissur has introduced a robotic elephant to perform rituals. The Iringadanpally Sree Krishna Temple performed the 'Nadayiruthal' ceremony of the robot elephant named 'Irinjadapilli Raman'. Four people can sit on the mechanical elephant, which stands tall at 11 feet. It has been built at a cost of Rs 5 lakh and has is fitted with wheels in its legs.
