Rot Runs Much Deeper Than Patriarchy: Former Top Cop
A girl mysteriously showed up wounded and bleeding near a government guest house in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj after CCTV cameras caught her walking with a man. The 13-year-old girl was unconscious and covered in blood when she was found hours after she left home on Sunday. But a group of men stands around her, filming her on phones. In the 25-second video, voices discuss whether the police have been alerted but there is no attempt to help the girl. "I feel the rot runs much deeper than patriarchy. First 30 minutes in an accident are crucial. I am happy that the police showed up. People need to be aware of their constitutional duties. People have failed this child," said former UP DGP Vikram Singh.
