Row Over Construction of Wall at Goa's Vainguinim Beach
The construction of a wall along north Goa's Vainguinim beach by the promoters of a nearby five-star resort has sparked a huge controversy. Activists and civil society groups have called the wall "illegal", even as the hospitality group, Fomento Resorts and Hotels Limited, has maintained that the wall is being built in its own property and with permission from the state government's Water Resources department. The other issue is the work is going on during the lockdown and even at night raising more questions about the activity.
