"I speak for myself and my own service in international service and my conviction that India has and should consistently stand for certain principles that apply to all in all circumstances. These principles - the respect for sovereignty of states, inviolability of borders and that governments should not use force to resolve political disputes. All of these have been enshrined in documents going back to Nehru's Panchsheel and before. Not saying we take a blunt position towards Russia. We should point out that Russia is regrettably in violation of the sacred principles. This message has not been given, including our explanation on the vote on the Council was wishy-washy," says Congress's Shashi Tharoor.
