Sabarimala controversy sparks debate
The Sabarimala controversy over the alleged incident of a woman defiling the holy shrine has sparked off a debate about the kind of untouchability practiced against women. "I recall when I was a child being brought up in a Brahmin family, we were treated as untouchables when we were having our menstrual cycle," said Gita Ramaswamy, Women's Activist.
