Tonight on The Buck Stops Here:
Sandeep Dikshit says no to Rahul Gandhi, says 'Sonia is our best bet'
On The Buck Stops Here, senior Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit bats for Sonia Gandhi saying she is party's "best bet" and that Congress does not need a leadership change right now. Referring to the recent march of Opposition MPs that Mrs Gandhi led to the Rashtrapati Bhawan, he said that Sonia Gandhi had shown "the spirit that few other have". Calling Rahul Gandhi's absence from the political scene "not correct", he said that Rahul's presence would have given the Congress "lot of energy" to fight Land Bill.
Sandeep Dikshit speaks against Rahul Gandhi's elevation: Rebellion in the ranks?
On The Buck Stops Here, we debate: after Rahul Gandhi's prolonged absence, is the Congress divided on who should lead the party? Rahul Gandhi is now set to return on April 19, but was he missed at all? With Sonia Gandhi energising the sagging Congress, should Rahul read the writing on the wall? And is the Congress stuck in Gandhi time warp?
An oncologist and cancer survivor's message to squabbling netas: 'I'm the proof'
After outrage, Parliamentary committee on tobacco warnings met today sans BJP's beedi baron SC Gupta. The panel still wants "evidence" on tobacco-cancer link. The Congress has admitted to its "mistake" in putting tobacco baron Praful Patel on Cabinet panel on tobacco during UPA tenure. On The Buck Stops Here, we debate: have both the Congress and the BJP surrendered to the tobacco lobby? And why doesn't the health minister act on Harsh Vardhan's recommendations on 85 per cent pictorial warning since the Parliamentary panel's advice is not binding?
