Sangli farmers protest 'cheap' land deals
There's a quiet churning in Maharashtra's Sangli district, a revolt against giant turbines set up by wind energy majors who have allegedly duped farmers, whose land has been bought for a pittance.
Now, an official inquiry is investigating major irregularities in the purchase of hundreds of acres of fertile land across Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur districts in western Maharashtra.
