SC orders CBI to take over PF scam probe
In a major judgement for the judiciary on Tuesday, the Supreme Court has ordered the CBI to take over the probe in an illegal Provident Fund withdrawal scam involving 34 judges. The CBI will take over the case from the UP police after the state government told the court it was ready to hand over the investigations to the central agency. NDTV had exposed the scam involving the siphoning of Rs 7 crore from the Employees Provident Fund by a treasury officer in the Ghaziabad judiciary.
