SC strikes down Foreigners' Act amendment

In a major setback for the Centre, the Supreme Court (SC) has struck down the Centre's amendment to the Foreigners' Act, applicable to Assam. The amendment to the Act had put the onus of proving any person to be a foreigner on the person making the complaint.
