The arrest of Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh in connection with the cash-for-votes scam saw an aggressive Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanding a wider probe into the scam. Dubbing it the "scandal of the century", the party accused the UPA government for having "benefited" from the scam and called for Amar Singh to explain who he was representing when he allegedly tried to buy the support of three MPs in 2008.
