As a 100-metre-long section of one of Kolkata's busiest flyovers came crashing down during the evening rush hour, close to 20 people were feared injured and at least one person has died. The images of the collapsed bridge brought back awful memories of the collapse of the under-construction Vivekananda flyover in Kolkata 2 years ago, when 28 people lost their lives and many were injured. As rescue workers toil late into the night trying to break through the rubble, we ask: where does the buck stop? And will our collapsing public infrastructure ever be a political priority?
