The BJP swept the Uttar Pradesh urban local body polls winning the mayoral seats of all 17 municipal corporations, besides 90 posts of municipality chairman and over 600 wards. Also, breaching the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party's last citadel in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district, ruling BJP's ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) won the Suar assembly by-election by a margin of 8,724 votes. "The results of the double-engine sarkar are in front of everyone to see," Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told reporters.
